Learning

6: The number of people at my Saturday training.

At a training in Mason. Someone just said, "See, now I made a typo here. I guess I can't go back and fix it?"

Lesson 1: The backspace key.

Might post more today, depending on the funny things I hear.

I am the new Community Trainer/VISTA at OASHF for OBB in Central Ohio, and this is a hilarious post (and fantastic blog!) I've been told that trainings may be more "computer lesson" oriented at times than Benefit Bank oriented, but I didn't even think about minute things like the backspace key that people wouldn't know about! I am going to be spending a lot of time in the next couple of days reading your blog, hopefully getting a leg up on my upcoming year. Good luck with the rest of your term :-)

Oh yes, you wouldn't believe some of the questions that come up in those trainings. Be prepared for at least one person per class to ask "So did we just do a benefits or tax class?" when they are filling out their evaluations at the end. Even if all you did was MENTION that the OBB has a taxes feature. Sigh.

I'm glad your reading my blog, and I hope it helps you prepare for your year! You're going to have a million stories and adventures! Good luck!
